“People in their environment”
I feel that I am simultaneously an observer and translator of my surroundings. The street, whether in daily life, during travels, on television, in newspapers, etc. animates me in every step. These occurances and images mix with my own experiences. So I "see" in all of these things the ambiguity behind them. After many years of creating inner and outer landscapes, my current interest is people in their material and spiritual environment. Sometimes I am inspired by elements out of which I develop my own rhythm. I condense these through sequences and clusters, through abstraction, simplification and enlargement, through new combinations, isolation, and fragmentary allusions. Thus inner and outer worlds penetrate each other, and in the best case they become new tensions and dynamics.
